Winter Walking Day 2021

Winter Parade

Most parades happen during the summer, but we do things a little differently at RDLS. Today was Winter Walking Day in our District, so we decided to go for a fun and festive march around the neighborhood to celebrate.

Students and teachers suited up and set out just after 9 a.m. All of us walked a lap around the block, crunching the snow under our feet, hearing the soft breeze blow through the pine trees, and enjoying one of the last days of winter. When we all arrived back at school, we warmed up with a delicious cup of hot cocoa.

Walking is always a nice way to start the day. You can enjoy the fresh air while moving your body and spending a little more time together as a family. If you’d like to try walking to or from school, please visit our Safe Routes to School web page. You’ll find a route map, safety tips and more.
