Governor Walz Visits Sheridan Hills Elementary

Sheridan Hills Elementary welcomed Governor Tim Walz this week to help celebrate Reading Month!

Governor Walz spent time in the classroom reading the book "Buffalo Fluffalo" to kindergarten and fourth-grade students in Mr. Houle's and Mrs. Smith's classrooms. Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner Willie Jett and Education Minnesota President Monica Byron, along with Superintendent Unowsky and Richfield school board members, also joined Governor Walz in visiting the school. It was great to have the state's top education leaders right here in our building, seeing the incredible work our teachers and staff do every single day.

The best part of the day was the send-off. As the governor was leaving, our entire school lined the hallways to cheer and trade high fives.

We are so proud of the Sheridan Hills community for showing our guests what makes Richfield so special. Thanks to everyone who made the day such a success!
